Mr. Johnson is a retired law enforcement supervisor with a background in latent print examination, crime scene investigation, forensic art, and facial identification. He is currently a Senior Advisor for Ideal Innovations, Inc. and his primary role is as a Senior Facial Training Instructor.

Mr. Johnson is a Past President and Board Chair of the International Association for Identification (IAI) and is currently a member of the Forensic Art Certification Board, the Chair of the IAI Facial Identification Committee and President’s Advisory Committee.

He also represented the IAI as a member of the Organization of Scientific Area Committees for Forensic Science (OSAC) Forensic Science Standards Board from 2014 to 2020, serving as Chair from 2017 to 2020. In addition to his duties with the IAI he is currently serving as a member of the OSAC Facial & Iris Identification Subcommittee.
