Dave Stewart, M.O.M. is a Superintendent with the Halton Regional Police Service and Commander of Special Investigative Services, overseeing organized crime investigations, intelligence, digital forensics, computer crime, analytics, and specialized emergency response units.

With more than three decades of policing experience, Dave has held leadership roles across investigative, operational, and strategic portfolios. He has led and sponsored numerous modernization initiatives involving digital evidence management, analytics, emerging technologies, and inter-agency collaboration. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Organized Crime Committee and is actively involved in provincial discussions related to technology-enabled policing and public safety innovation.

Dave was invested as a Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces in recognition of his contributions to policing and public safety. He is also a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal and the Police Exemplary Service Medal.
At this year's conference, Dave will share the Canadian experience in implementing facial recognition technology through a collaborative partnership involving multiple police services, with a focus on governance, public trust, accountability, and lessons learned in deploying emerging technologies within a highly regulated and publicly accountable environment.
