Lisa Zinn serves as an Assistant Director of the Orange County Sheriff’s Crime Laboratory, bringing more than 27 years of experience in forensic science and public safety. She began her career in crime scene investigation and latent print examination, working with both local law enforcement agencies and the County Sheriff’s Department.
Lisa quickly advanced into leadership roles, first supervising the Crime Scene Investigation unit, then moving into the Cal-ID (tenprint) unit—where she has spent the last 16 years shaping the strategic direction of biometric identification in Orange County. Under her guidance, the Cal-ID program has implemented innovative technologies that continue to strengthen the region’s forensic capabilities.
A respected voice in the forensic community, Lisa has contributed nationally as a member of the Scientific Working Group on Friction Ridge Analysis, Study and Technology (SWGFAST) and later as an original member of the Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) - Friction Ridge Subcommittee.
She holds a BA in Criminal Justice from Cal State Fullerton and has previously been active in professional organizations including the International Association for Identification, the California State Division of the IAI, the Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers, and the California Association of Crime Laboratory Directors.
Lisa brings to the panel a rich perspective on leadership, scientific integrity, and the power of innovation in public service.
