Department of War biometrics are enabled by the Automated Biometric Information System (ABIS).  Serving as the DoW’s authoritative data source on biometric receipt, processing, matching, storing, sharing, and reference across a variety of users and biometric devices, DoW’s ABIS has excelled at enabling military identity intelligence.  An overview of the system, its major functions, and advances in ABIS and its implementation will be presented.  Potential areas of future biometrics applications will be discussed.
